A: Anybody from academia having an institutional email address can enroll in this course.

Q: What are the required programming skills to success in practical work?
A: To succeed in the practical work, you will need to be able to code very simple mathematical expressions, like r = (x**2+y**2)**0.5 . So, normally everyone can succeed!
Q: Do I need to install Python or anything else?
A: Yes, you will need to install Python 3 with numpy, scipy, matplotlib and, preferably, Jupyter Notebook too. All information will be provided before the course starts. For those attending the course in person, we can provide you with laptops to work through the practical sessions.
Q: Can I attend only lectures that I am interested in?
A: Yes, you can choose lectures that you would like to attend in person or online.
Q: What are the conditions to get an attendance certificate?
A: To obtain an attendance certificate, you need to attend all lectures and practical work and pass the written exam on site in Versailles (usage of electronic devices is prohibited). There is no attendance certificate for online participants.
Q: Do you provide funding to attend the course in person?
A: No, there is no funding provided.
Q: Are there lecture notes for this course?
A: Yes, for the edition 2026 there will be lecture notes.
